Like most companies these days, Citrix is preparing and planning for their 10,000 employees to return to 80 offices in phases. The security team has been a critical part of identifying and implementing the technologies that will provide the greatest safety with minimal to no inconvenience to employees. Northland’s Professional Services team introduced Citrix to Facilities Access Screening Tool (FAST) by Detrios. The software integration allows companies to restrict or remove access seamlessly if a person does not pass required health or temperature screening. In addition to a mobile self-reporting tool and other technologies, Citrix employed FAST in a phased approach starting with four buildings with multiple entrances and 2,000 employees. After employees undergo Citrix’s health screening protocols at the designated entry point and pass, access is granted automatically to the building, and the employee badge works for the duration of a predetermined amount of time.
“This has been a real opportunity to showcase the value of our security organization to the company,” says Jason Keen, Global Head Security Operations Global Security Risk Services. “COVID posed a challenge, and we have been working with facilities and human resources to address these issues like never before and with many eyes watching. Having a partner like Northland that mapped out a plan and process, communicated at all times of the day across 20 time zones, offered unexpected solutions, and delivered on their promises, has really helped show the value physical security brings to a company.”
Prior to deploying FAST, Northland worked closely with Citrix to wrangle an inconsistent security system relaying across three different servers and disparate platforms across 80 offices. From the chaos, across 20 time zones, and almost completely remotely, Northland designed, built, and deployed an enterprise solution.
